Unfortunately, Ayurveda products are repeatedly criticized because every now and then preparations appear or are brought back by people from India or Sri Lanka that are contaminated and do more harm to people than help them. This is a great shame and of course does not help Ayurvedic medicine gain recognition and be taken seriously in Germany.
Many people trust Ayurvedic medicine. Personally, it is very important to me that it is made clear that there are reputable suppliers of Ayurvedic plant preparations (food supplements) in Germany. These companies have their preparations tested or take products off the market because they still need to be tested. When buying medicines/herbal supplements in India, you have to be very careful and know your way around. As a tourist, I recommend not buying medicine there. If you do an Ayurvedic treatment in India or Sri Lanka, you can ask your Ayurvedic doctor to give you remedies. I think you can trust him/her.
I only work with companies that I can rely on. I am happy to forego a preparation or oil for a few weeks because it is currently being tested or is not available. I've never had a bad experience.
